Mission Trip

The trip was an eye opener...
Learnt how to be much more thankful for basic daily necessities we take for granted.
No, it's not just about air-conditioning... Proper beds... Or even drinkable water... It's much more basic than that.
Yup. Toilet doors that can close. Not lock... CLOSE.
Imagine having to bathe while holding the door shut. Or peeing with one hand outstretched, palm against the door.
Speaking of peeing... Till you've pee-ed standing next to a hopping frog, you have yet to fanthom the true meaning of a cheap thrill.
Anyway... I'm alot more thankful for just about everything I have now. No water heater? No sweat! As long as there's a 'flushable' toilet, it's a luxury! Thank God for that.
Ok... I'm losing steam here... So tired. Shall just wrap it up briefly.
Though I did realise that although the people there are lacking in so much things we take for granted... It stood out to me that they seemed alot happier than the people in Singapore.
Especially the kids. They have what Singaporean kids can only dream about. A childhood. Or an ideal childhood, what childhood was meant to be.
When a friend asked someone there if he was happy... He said he was.
Why?
"Because I have everything."
God is their everything.
The rich are people who think they have enough?
Whatever it is... They have God. They only need God. And they're happy. Education... Wealth... Power... May be important to survive in our society... But They should be used as tools for survival... Not routes to happiness. For if you use them as routes... You'll never find happiness at the end of it. God is all you need. In any and every society, culture and living condition. He is universal.
Ang diyos nati Mabuti.
